Every Penny

"You know, barely anyone out here acknowledges me. I'm on this street corner days on end; it's 6pm, and you're the first person who has said anything to me. I used to work as a clerk at the hospital over there, and I lived in a house a few streets over. Eventually I lost my job, and then the hospital expanded into my neighborhood and I lost my house, too. Now I live in an abandoned house just trying to catch any extra dollar I can. Every penny counts. I'm out here sun up to sun down; I'm always here."
