Who is York Project?
York Project is a Detroit based social streetwear fashion brand that is dedicated not only to making the high quality clothing that we actually want to wear, but also focuses on Creating Change in our communities. We currently operate as a one-for-one brand, donating almost $100,000 worth of in-kind goods to homeless shelters, support organizations, and people across America since we were founded in 2013. We currently are located in the Corktown neighborhood of Detroit, and have plans to open multiple retail locations throughout 2018.
This summer, we'll begin producing all of our garments right in Detroit. We're partnering with a local women's shelter to hire Detroiters to work as part of our cut and sew production team. We're living out our mission to BE THE CHANGE.
Why work for York Project?
While all of our internships are officially unpaid, we feel that there are still plenty of compelling reasons to join our team. Here are just a few!
•Be part of a fast growing startup in Detroit
•Making a real difference in a company, and ultimately lives of those in our community
•Get incredible, (truly unbelievable) discounts on clothing, and sometimes even free stuff!
•Some free food (mostly tacos from nearby Mexicantown) Who doesn't like free tacos?!
•Transformational giving and volunteering experiences
•Get amazing internship experience, and build your network and resume. Previous York Project team members have gone on to receive offers from companies like: Shinola, Quicken Loans, Adidas, Barstool Sports, VaynerMedia, Abercrombie & Fitch, Fiat Chrysler, Boeing, Amazon, Discover, Detroit Red Wings, and Marathon among others.
Ideally, we'd love to hire you fulltime after a successful internship, but on the chance that there isn't a spot available for you, we have an extensive network and know how to help get you where you want to go!
